Wow! It already has been one Month! I never had a Smartphone in my entire life and when I got my first smartphone on December 21st! I was pretty worried I might get hooked on this thing.
Here is what I felt during my month's trial on the Smartphone! I notice right away the convenience of having a smartphone is pretty insane! Here are some of the lists I find this piece of glass to be so darn useful.
- I can now see my Slack Notifications on the move and also use the attendance channel faster than ever before! I am someone that has one of the best attendance records. When I was in school while my peers got honors, well I always almost always get the perfect attendance records! now with the Smartphone, I can put I am here faster than ever before it is just glorious!
- Shopping In-Store just got to another level! What! I can now view aisles on my Smartphone!!! Yeah, I am not that tech savvy on the smartphone yet but I did find making my shopping list with the Aise number and bay number really helps in shopping in stores!
- Smart Devices! I am officially hooked on Ring Doorbell! I just love hearing the notification sound and seeing through my smartphone who is at the front door!
- Store Apps! I love that your membership cards are right in the palm of your hands and no more harmful plastic cards! Not only are plastic cards cumbersome but I believe they have contributed to harming the environment if not disposed of correctly. Also, plastic cards just make your wallet messy and disorganized.
- Waze and Google Maps! I find apps like Waze and Google Map brings a whole new meaning to finding your way in the world! I mean it is so awesome how you can literally never lose your way because of the digital maps that help you in sticky situations. Trust me I lost my way one time and if it wasn’t for a kind-hearted bystander we would have been lost forever!
How does having a Flip Phone and moving to a Smartphone like?
Mind-blowing the difference is literally night and day! I never thought the smartphone can do so much! Even after a month of using the smartphone, I find myself learning new things it is truly amazing!
The flip phone is like dial-up internet and then Boom Smartphone is Fiber internet! That is what it is like DeLorean jumping from the 1990s to 2020s!
But surprisingly I am not having the smartphone stuck to my hand. Usually, even at work I only check my Slack notifications and the Ring doorbell. I use about 5% of the potential the Smartphone holds probably. Why don’t I use 100% potential? Because I lived in a world you only use what you need and you really don’t care about the rest. But, I am slowly finding new things I can use the smartphone for so I will eventually reach 100% potential but right now I just scratched the surface.
I am truly happy I am not hooked on the smartphone all the time. I was worried but I guess living a minimally plugged-in life helped me out in the end. But, I have to admit I now understand why people get hooked on smartphones and why they can’t let it go. I just hope people can still enjoy the sky above and the nature around them.
