I kindly disagree with Apple on this one Afronomist. To future proof your computer 16 GB is bare minimum in my opinion. 8GB RAM is perfect for tablets and not for computers.

Mac's are good but they are not good enough to have 8 GB ram and function fully. Chrome browser itself uses crazy amount of memory and even if someone didn't used Chrome there are many apps out there that is going to be memory hungry.

I usually recommend all my clients to go 16GB ram always unless if they are literally going to check emails and type documents and watch few YouTube videos ok maybe 8 GB might suffice.

But in the real world of computing 16 GB ram is minimum in my opinion. 😊
