The 24th word is “Slay” I have been told that it means “killed it or did something amazing.”
Another word with mixed meanings. One side of the word literally means slaying or killing and the other side is you did something so amazing you “killed it” I remember this saying growing up back when I was finishing Middle school and going to High School my friends started saying “You killed it” a lot. I didn’t know what that meant and later found out it was like saying “You are the bomb”. My question is when did we start applying horrific words like “slay”, “kill”, and “bomb” translating to you did something amazing and really good at something?
Generations of words are being changed and used it is kind of worrisome that words that have negative aspects are being used to complement someone. See the Canva picture I made today. That tiger looks so cute and the star is so cute as well. But, if you flip the coin a tiger can slay living animals and even humans while a falling star isn’t cute as beautiful if it hits a planet.
