If you are like me and wish Day Light Saving to end you might be excited to hear the Sunshine Protection Act has Passed through Senate last year!!!
But why oh why are we going FORWARD one Hour this Sunday???
That is because Sadly the House let the Sunshine Protection Act Expire!!!
But, we have politicians that get our pain and have successfully reintroduced the Sunshine Protection Act which is currently in PROGRESS! What do you think? Do you think the DLS should be gone as well? Let me share with you my traumatic experience which is now something to laugh about but back then it was pretty devasting. I am kind of a weird guy. I am very punctual for some reason so punctual in fact people think I might not even be human. I have rarely been late for anything. I have been working at my job for nearly a decade and I have been late about 5 times and that is counting generously. But one thing that throws me off more than anything is DLS every time the clock goes forward and backward my biorhythm is seriously screwed. I really don’t like it but here we are still debating.
I never got awards for being smart but one award I got over and over again was Perfect Attendance! But Just ONE time I Failed to be on time because of Day Light Saving! Here is my traumatic story in high school ages ago. Goodness, I feel so old thinking about it now LoL!
I remember that day. It was in March when the hour was going FORWARD. That Sunday I slept and woke the next morning. Back when I was in High School there weren’t many smartphones used widely. It was still a brand-new technology. I didn’t even have internet and was totally living unplugged.
I went to class that day wondering why the bus left me behind. I saw the hall silent when I arrived at school and it hit me like a fright train! I was late because of the DLS time change!
I went to the principal office on my own two feet and asked the principal assistant to give me a tardy pass because I was late. She looked at me like I was on crack! I was taught by my parents to be honorable and honest. Sneaking into class wasn’t aligned with my moral codes so I took the tardy pass and with shame walked into my United States Government class.
Mr. Harverda shouted “Thank God! Yohan you are HUMAN! You are late for once GREAT JOB!” Come sit down, but what is in your hand???” I told him it was a tardy pass and was about to give it to him when I saw all my classmates staring at me!
Mr. Harverda said “Why the Flip you did that!? Dang it, Yohan! I now have to submit the darn tardy slip give me the darn thing!” Back then I was so confused why he was so mad at me for doing the right thing! Many years later I finally understood. He just wanted me to be a High school kid living life! And not so stuck up and all proper. He wanted me to act like a high school kid cause you are never going to be a high school kid ever again. Once you become adults that is it. All you can do now is grow young at heart!
I hope and pray with all my Heart and Soul the Sunshine Protection Act gets PASSED in 2023!!!
