Claps are Louder than Words on Medium!!!

Claps on Medium:
I really like the Clap system on Medium! It is so easy to show your thanks to the writer without having to take too much time. I always find myself clapping on Medium to show my thanks and support. Later I found out you get paid by claps so I made sure to clap up to 50 on the ones I truly liked and wanted to show my utmost thanks! But, I also believe leaving a comment is the best way as well!
Don’t think about Not leaving a Comment!!!
I know I said “Claps are Louder than Words on Medium” but that was just a way to have you come in and read this article. How am I going to catch your attention huh? I truly wanted to say it is awesome to leave a comment. I am lazy and like all others too busy. But, sometimes it gives me great joy to leave a comment of thanks to the writers. I think it means a lot if someone leaves a comment. Did you know to leave a comment on Medium, you have to click the comment bubble and then take YOUR TIME to write a short message or maybe long and share your thoughts! That means the person cares enough to go through all that trouble to leave a comment for you!
Sadly, the world is full of negative comments!!! Sometimes I just want to shut down the computer and toss it away because of all the negativity in this darn world! I kid you not I was on Nextdoor (Neighborhood Community App) and I saw a post in my email about “Please be careful with Fireworks” It had a sad dog on the post so like most others I clicked on the post. What I saw and read was just flat-out horrible! This poor woman was speaking her concerns to others in our neighborhood to be careful when setting off fireworks cause the loud sounds can scare the kids and their fur babies. She just said “Please be mindful on starting fireworks month before the 4th and mindful on setting off fireworks for weeks end” It was just a plea. But, people can be harsh. I started reading messages after messages on how she should mind her own business, and move away, basically kindly saying piss off and I am going to set off my booming fireworks! She had valid reasons for this post! I know people have the right to do fireworks and I think it is great to celebrate freedom. But, what is the cost of that if people are going to savagely crush people's pleas with harsh comments!
I try my best to leave supportive comments on Medium to show my support for the writers. I have people that I don’t agree with and if I see someone like that I just don’t read their content and move on with my day! Life is too dang short to waste on toxic banter. My parents didn’t suffer and raised me so I can go out in the world and be toxic. To honor my parents and family it is my duty to live life to the fullest and be as kind as possible and when it is time to speak my mind do so with respect!!!
